Our homies Talibam! have been invited to perform with Yasunao Tone, legendary Japanese Fluxist artist as part of the Museum of Modern Art’s “TOKYO 1955-1970 – A NEW AVANT GARDE” exhibition.
Talibam! will perform with Yasuno Tone, Larry 7 and Sam Kulik on Jan 10th in the Education Building at 6pm. This group will perform a number of Tone’s graphic scores: Anagram for Strings #1 &2, Smooth Event & Music for a Painting will be performed. ‘Music for a Painting’ will feature a MOMA commissioned painting; a work made specifically for this performance by Kulik, Shea, & Mottel. Films of the 1960’s by Limura Takahiko & Kanesaka Kenji will be projected and the ensemble will performatively interpret them.
