Kelie Bowman, Serra Victoria Bothwell Fels, John Orth

For the inaugural show at F. L. A. Gallery artists: Kelie Bowman, John Orth, and Serra Victoria Bothwell Fels create new wilds inspired by the Florida landscape. The state’s visual vocabulary includes: oaks dripping Spanish moss, sandy sunny days, shell strewn beaches, palmettos, cypress knees, loud and flashing thunderstorms, Drawing from this vibrant natural landscape, the artists have chosen particular elements to abstract and amplify. The collected works react to the wilds kept at bay, inviting the viewer to a lush and tangled imagined Florida; a Florida that reclaims and celebrates itself.
